Samples of planters that I make are shown here. Shown on the right are the small, medium, and large sizes. They are constructed of glass-fiber reinforced cement. No heavier than ceramic pots, they are strong and weather-resistant. Coloring is done with stains. You can easily conserve water by landscaping with drought-resistant plants that don't require extra water (xeriscape), and restrict thirsty plants to planters such as these. Two methods of using the planters are described below.
Bog Planters are without drainage holes, and are for growing plants that do well in wet soil. This is a good way to include lush foliage and flowers in the landscape with little effort. Bog planters are lined with an epoxy sealer. The largest planters are quite carefree, requiring water perhaps only a couple of times per month in the hottest weather.
Color Bowl Planters have drainage holes, and are for bedding plants typically grown for flowers or foliage. The use of these planters is a good way to avoid digging armadillos and invading roots from surrounding trees or shrubs
Two methods of using the plantersandare described below.
